PR Consultant

Name: Gerry Lundberg
Job Title: PR Consultant - Entertainment
Salary Range: Varies

How did you get started?

I left school and started acting. A woman called Phyllis Ryan asked me to do some administration work for the Dublin Theatre Festival. Then she asked me to do some PR as well. I said no and then did it anyway. I haven't looked back since.

What are you working on right now?

A number of things presently including 'Riverdance', a play called 'The Kings of Kilburn High Road' in the Tivoli, the film version of 'The Borstal Boy', the Druid Theatre Groups new production in Galway, a new film called 'Poccoon' starring Richard Attenborough, Sean Hughes and Elliot Gould and the arrival of the Stanislavski Ballet Group to Dublin are my few projects at the moment.

What's an average day in your job like?

There is no average day!!!!!!!!!!!

Is your industry all about who not what you know?

No not really. That day is gone. Contacts are vitally important and networking is essential but you have to have qualifications as well nowadays to get on well in my kind of job. The one thing that is important is trust. If you can trust people you will use them and help them in equal quantities.

What's the best thing about your job?

If a project I am working on is a success is the best thing.
